Hypervolemia suppresses dilutional anaemic injury in a rat model of haemodilution

چکیده

Abstract Background and Objectives Haemodilution leads to complications in clinical practice. It is exactly unknown whether this damage caused by the fluid or stretching of vascular bed. We aimed compare two different haemodilution techniques at same anaemic level. Methods Normovolemic hypervolemic was performed on twelve adult male Wistar rats. In normovolemic procedure, blood withdrawn instantaneously administered with similar amounts 6% hydroxyethyl starch (HES 130/0.4). Fluid without withdrawing procedure. both models, a 25% haematocrit level targeted kept for 90 min deepen anaemia effect. Besides haemodynamics measurement, renal function (creatinine, urea nitrogen) injury (tissue norepinephrine, malondialdehyde) were evaluated. Also, systemic hypoxia (lactate), oxidative stress (malondialdehyde, ischaemia-modified albumin), inflammation (tumour necrosis factor-alpha [TNF-α]), osmotic stress, adrenal (norepinephrine, epinephrine), (atrial natriuretic peptide [ANP]) assessed. Results Arterial pressure group lower than group. Serum creatinine, nitrogen, lactate levels higher Tissue norepinephrine malondialdehyde ANP, malondialdehyde, albumin, free haemoglobin, syndecan-1, TNF-α groups compared respective baseline. Conclusions may lead hypoxic kidney injury. The state be advantageous if administered. Thus, effect itself can relatively masked.

Establishment of a rat model of radiation-induced lung injury

Background: Radiation-induced lung injury is a refractory side effect in lung cancer radiotherapy, the mechanism still remains unclear, hence an appropriate animal mode may become useful to investigate it. Materials and Methods: 50 female Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups, average 10 rats/cage: A. control group B. 3Gy×10f C. 6Gy×5f D. 12.5Gy×1f E.15.3Gy×1f....

Microinjection of calcitonin in midbrain periaqueductal gray attenuates hyperalgesia in a chronic constriction injury rat model

Objective(s): As heat, pain is one of the most common clinical symptoms. Generally, calcitonin (CT) is prescribed as an analgesic agent for the treatment of pain, especially for the pain caused by osteoporosis or primary and metastatic bone tumor. However, the detailed mechanism remains unknown.Materials and Methods: In this study, chronic constriction injury (CCI) rat model was created, and ho...

Protective effects of vitamin D on ischemia-reperfusion injury of the ovary in a rat model

Objective(s): The aim of the present study is to investigate probable acute effects of vitamin D on ischemia-reperfusion injury in the rat ovary.Materials and Methods: A group of 30 Wistar albino rats was divided into five groups of 6 each. Group 1:  underwent laparotomy only and the ovaries were removed. Group 2:  3-hr ischemia followed by excision of the ovaries. Group 3:  3-hr ischemia and 3...

Antioxidant and antiapoptotic effects of erdosteine in a rat model of ovarian ischemia-reperfusion injury

Objective(s): To evaluate the protective effect of erdosteine, an antiapoptotic and antioxidant agent, on torsion–detorsion evoked histopathological changes in experimental ovarian ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury. Materials and Methods: Eighteen female Wistar albino rats were used in control, IR, and IR+Edosteine (IR-E) groups, (n=6 in each). The IR-E group received the erdosteine for seven da...
